St. Paul’s History 1870
Show above is a panel that hangs in the hallway outside of the Parish Hall at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fulton, MD. Working together as a team the 150th Anniversary Committee was able to assembly the snippets of history together to document the founding of St. Paul’s. This is the largest graphic multi-layered Photoshop fill I have ever done 4 foot high by 8 foot long and is mounted on the wall.
It is a collection of original photos, drawings, and copies of maps imported into Photoshop. I was quite the challenge to visualize, put together, and edit. Test prints were done by piecing 11×17 pages together and editing was accomplished by projecting the Photoshop PDF onto the wall.
I choose the colors that I best felt represented the church and had an historic feel about it. It really is hard to take in and is best experienced in person. It was a team effort to select the bits of history to include and since we couldn’t include all the interesting things are research uncovered on the wall, the booklet was later created to do justice to the subject and give the congregation something to save as a keepsake of the event.
